Broadcast System Integration & Consultation
Drawing on decades of experience from developing, building and maintaining the broadcast infrastructure of the MediaCorp Group, the largest and most established broadcaster in Singapore, as well as supporting the needs of international broadcasters, we are leading in our technical expertise in the entire value chain of broadcast system.

For analog broadcasting services, we have built and are operating a television station (7 channels) and FM radio (14 channels). In digital transmission, we were the first worldwide to build and operate the Digital Mobile TV transmission network, comprising of a main transmission facility and multiple repeater stations synchronized into a SFN (Single Frequency Network).

Besides Digital TV, MediaCorp Technologies also builds and operates a DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) service as well. In conjunction with the development and operation of transmission facilities, we have also built and are running a Radio Technical Centre, a Digital Media Centre and a High Definition Media Centre to support the radio and TV playout for the various business units of  MediaCorp.

Our teleport is strategically located in the city with a 24/ 7 Satellite TV Operations Centre that offers quick turnaround and playout services. With well- placed dishes, we are able to offer excellent satellite uplink/downlink facility (analogue and digital) with excellent connectivity to international and regional satellites, supporting international transmission of live events and programmes. Our fully-steerable Earth Station provides quick turnaround even for ad-hoc requests, giving you the shortest time to market and maximum flexibility to connect.

Furthermore, with our mobile fly-away Digital Satellite News Gathering unit (DSNG), you can ensure perfect coverage of time-sensitive events like fast-breaking news, sports, opening ceremonies and meetings. Anytime, Anywhere and Globally.

However, if you require comprehensive coverage locally, our extensive microwave (both fixed and portable) coverage provides video linkage anywhere in Singapore and extends combined with the most experienced outside broadcast production team available, is second to none in Singapore. And reach anywhere globally via satellite.

- Audio & Video (AV) Production Services & Equipment

From simple video capture to professional broadcast production, our television production team takes care of every facet of video production (both indoor and outdoor events),, including the management of projects, large or small.

These include live studio programmes, sports events, concerts, launches, carnivals, speeches, education programmes, conferences / seminars and live coverage of marketing and corporate events. With our extensive satellite reach, we are able to provide two-way interaction local or regionally.

- Enabling Knowledge Sharing at Cardiology Conference

Organised by National Heart Centre of Singapore and sponsored by the Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology, the Singapore LIVE conference in Interventional Cardiology is held twice yearly in Singapore.

The event focused on coronary and peripheral interventions and attracted close to a thousand medical practitioners from around the world. As part of the learning experience, live operations performed in countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, France and at the National Heart Centre are beamed to the conference attendees. MediaCorp Technologies has been providing the end-to-end broadcasting solutions since the Singapore Live Course initiated the live surgery demos in 1999.

All the operations that are conducted at the National Heart Centre are transmitted via state-of-the-art TV Outside Broadcast (OB) van deployed by MediaCorp Technologies. The van is parked on-site and linked by cable to the three operating theatres (OT) in which procedures are performed. Feeds to the van includes the output from the cameras (usually two to three units) in each OT, electrocardiography and fluoroscopy machines. The surgical teams are equipped with wireless headsets to communicate and answer questions posed by the conference attendees live from the conference, e. g. Suntec City. A doctor is stationed in the van to provide guidance on the footage being sent via microwave to Master Control Room set up at the conference, where a group of moderators are stationed there to provide commentary and advice.

MediaCorp Technologies also provides project management and expertise for live broadcasts from countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia and France, which includes liaison work with the broadcasting solutions providers, the satellite operators in these countries and leasing of backup phone lines.

MediaCorp Technologies provides radio and TV playout operations services with 24 by 7 technical support. We set high standards to ensure maximum error-free performance and minimum channel downtime. Our playout operations services include playout services for local and international channels for terrestrial or satellite deliveries, playout of standard, High Definition (HD) and new media contents
