Saving Gaia series 3, Mondays 8:30pm, 1 June to 6 July, Channel News Asia
2008 is the year that crude oil prices rocketed, fears over energy security gripped many nations, and the science of climate change became far more widely accepted.
It was the year key decision makers, governments, businesses and the ordinary consumers decided it could no longer be 'business as usual'. Instant energy was no longer a given.
The 21st century has been marked the 'age of renewables'.
Returning for a third season, this time Saving Gaia scours across Asia to find efforts at sourcing for renewable energy. From the most innovative solutions, simplest initiatives, to the most driven environmentalists, we find Asia’s Most. In short, we find Asia’s environmental superlatives.
And you’d be surprised; sometimes the answer lies in the unexpected, or the simplest of ideas.
This season, we pay particular attention to people-led initiatives, and individuals who endeavor to lead an environmentally conscious lifestyle. We look at those who embody this the new generation of thinking for a new generation of living.
We hope to answer at the end of this season, how is Asia creating for itself a sustainable environmental future?
Red, Hot and Green, Mondays to Fridays 12:30pm, 27 May to 12 June, Channel 5 Green design takes center stage when host Carter Oosterhouse teams up with designer Nicole Facciuto. Watch as they transform plain rooms into sizzling spaces with eco-friendly flair.
It’s Easy Being Green, Sundays 10:30am, 21 June to 26 July, Channel 5 An eco-themed series hosted by organic chef and author Renee Loux.
