Under One Roof returns on 5! Special season to mark MediaCorp’s 40th anniversary Returns 29 April, 8pm
Singapore, 22 April 2002 – Singapore’s first funny family will be reunited with Channel 5 viewers in April. Starting 29 April on Tuesdays at 8pm, Tan Ah Teck and his family from Under One Roof will return for a special ‘limited edition’ (12-episode) season as part of MediaCorp’s 40th anniversary.
Yes! The award-winning show that brought the lives, loves and laughs of a typical Singaporean family into homes all over the island returns with more of the same heartwarming stories, crazy antics and down-to-earth humour. Not only will the entire Tan family come together again to deliver fast and furious laughs, so will their neighbours.
Ms Selena Ho, Senior Assistant Vice-President of Network Programming and Promotions 5, MediaCorp TV, says, “In celebration of our 40th Anniversary, Under One Roof makes a welcome return to Channel 5. We want to bring back the nostalgia, fun and laughter that the Tan family brought us over the years. Hopefully, the show will also lift the spirits and warm the hearts of families all over Singapore during these times.”
The Under One Roof family includes award-winning actors, Moses Lim (Tan Ah Teck), Koh Chieng Mun (Dolly) and Vernetta Lopez (Denise). Also making a comeback this season are Andrew Lim (Paul), Nicholas Lee (Ronnie) and Selena Tan (Paul’s wife, Anita).
But what’s the Tan family without their neighbours? Viewers can also expect the return of Zaibo (Yusof - the Tans’ neighbour) and Daisy Irani (Daisy).
This season, viewers can expect to see both Ah Teck and Dolly turning into TV stars, resulting in hilarious consequences! While Paul and Anita try to escape from the pressures of having children, Denise finds it difficult to convince her traditional family to accept her non-Chinese boyfriend.
Ronnie, on the other hand, is looking for a job and formulates a few mischievous moneymaking ventures that get on everyone’s nerves. Yusof is caught trying to re-invent his mee-rebus recipes to keep with the times, and Daisy finds herself getting adjusted to marriage life after returning from her honeymoon with her husband, Frank.
Whatever the story might be, viewers are definitely going to be in for a real hilarious treat when Under One Roof returns. So remember to make a date with Under One Roof on Tuesday, 29 April, at 8pm!
