This hugely popular, easy to use text-based TV information service was introduced to Singapore in 1983, the first in Asia, and has remained relevant and useful to audiences ever since. For viewers, Teletext is all about fast facts and useful information. For advertisers, it is a cost- effective medium to reach out to a wide and responsive audience.
A recent AC Nielsen's survey shows about 1.7 million people, aged 12 years and above, have used the service in the past year and more than 80 percent of Singapore homes have Teletext TV sets.
